Overview

This course is designed to provide pre-employment training and a pathway into an engineering apprenticeship, or can be used to gain the skills required for entry-level employment in the engineering manufacturing-related industries. A minimum achievement in Year 10 Maths and English, and an aptitude for practical work, is recommended. Students may attain qualification upon satisfactory completion of all units.

VPC: Each completed 90-hour block of VET equals one VPC credit.

VCE / VCE VM: Recognition of up to three VCE VET units at Units 1 & 2 level, and a VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequence. Note: Students are strongly advised against undertaking the scored Unit 3–4 sequence without first completing Units 1 & 2 because Unit 3–4 sequences are not designed for standalone study.

ATAR: Scored assessment is available for this course.

Course Details

Delivery Mode: Face to face onsite at the Host school(s).
Assessment Methods: Written, Practical Tasks, Observations, Project/Portfolio

Structured Workplace Learning

It is strongly recommended that students undertake a minimum 80 hours of work placement.

Prerequisites: There are no specific Prerequisites for this qualification. However, a minimum achievement in Year 10 Mathematics and English and an aptitude for particle work is recommended.
