Overview

This nationally accredited course prepares you for a high-demand career in allied health assistance across public and private settings. You’ll gain experience in areas such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, and speech pathology. It’s suited to those interested in working in hospitals or community health, building the skills to support clients of all ages across a range of allied health fields. Students may attain qualification upon satisfactory completion of all units.

VPC: Each completed 90-hour block of VET equals one VPC credit.

VCE / VCE VM: Recognition of two VCE VET units at Units 1 & 2 level, and two VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequences. Note: Students are strongly advised against undertaking the scored Unit 3–4 sequence without first completing Units 1 & 2 because Unit 3–4 sequences are not designed for standalone study.

ATAR: Scored assessment is available for this course.

Course Details

Delivery Mode: Face to face onsite at the Host school(s).

  • HLTINF001 Comply with infection prevention and control policies
  • HLTAP301B Recognize healthy body systems

Use of External Providers: First Aid training (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid) for students enrolled at Whittlesea Secondary College is delivered on-site by Savile (RTO 45452).

Structured Workplace Learning

A minimum 120 hours of work placement is required to successfully complete this course.
