Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-vocational)

VPC: Each completed 90-hour block of VET equals one VPC credit.

VCE / VCE VM: Recognition of up to four VCE VET units at Units 1 & 2 level, and a VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequence.

ATAR: Students will be eligible for a 10% increment.

VASS: VE1

Delivery Mode: Face to face onsite at the Host school(s).
Assessment Methods: Written, Practical Tasks, Observations, Project/Portfolio

Core Units of Competency:

• CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card)
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
• VU22670 Provide basic sustainable energy solutions for energy reduction in residential premises
• VU22321 Use basic electric theory and magnetic theory to solve electrical problems
• VU22322 Use electrical workshop tools and equipment
• VU22323 Select and use check and test equipment
• VU22324 Carry out basic electrical connection techniques
• VU22325 Use electric power tools and equipment
• VU22330 Select and interpret drawings and prepare three-dimensional sketches and drawings
• VU22339 Prepare for an Electrotechnology apprenticeship

Licensing or Accreditation Eligibility: Successfully completing the unit CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry provides a Statement of Attainment. This is necessary to get a White Card, which is required for working on construction sites in Australia. WorkSafe Victoria confirms eligibility for the White Card after completing this unit.

It is strongly recommended that students undertake a minimum 80 hours of work placement.

Prerequisites: No prerequisites required.
