Overview

Certificate II in Sport Coaching equips students with essential coaching and communication skills through practical, real-world experiences. The qualification supports pathways into employment, volunteering, and further study while building confidence, leadership, and industry-ready capabilities for community sport.

VPC: Each completed 90-hour block of VET equals one VPC credit.

VCE/VCE VM: Recognition of up to four VCE VET units at Units 1 & 2 level.

ATAR: No contribution is available.

VASS: VE3

Course Details

Delivery Mode: Face to face onsite at the Host school(s)

Assessment Methods: Direct observation, written/oral questioning and simulated workplace tasks.

  • HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
  • SIRXWHS001 – Work safely
  • SISSPAR009 – Participate in conditioning for sport
  • SISSSCO001 – Conduct sport coaching sessions with foundation level participants
  • SISSSCO002 – Work in a community coaching role
  • SISSSOF002 – Continuously improve officiating skills and knowledge
  • SISXFAC006 – Maintain activity equipment
Structured Workplace Learning

It is strongly recommended that students undertake a minimum of 80 hours work placement.

Prerequisites: No prerequisites required.
